We’re a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia . Locally at St Andrew’s Berwick, the Church Council (with a majority of the Elders as members) is the group charged with the responsibility of management and practical oversight of the congregation,  and the Elders Council  are the spiritual and pastoral leaders, developing the part we play in the mission of Christ.

We are under the authority of the Presbytery of Pot Phillip East,  our regional Council, and  the VicTas Synod. Nationally we are led by the Assembly of the Uniting Church. Any lay or ordained member can be elected to these Councils, and we strongly support the equal representation of lay and ordained women and men at all Councils, and for ordination and all positions of leadership.  Our next National  Assembly leader will be Dr Dierdre Palmer.
